Connect Rex

Connect a Rex user to your workspace, send a client-pays check from a contact or listing, and write the status back.

Updated 12 October 2026

You connect Rex for one workspace. The Rex user email and password stay on the server. FreeAML does not show them again.

Rex uses a user login, not an app key you paste from a directory. A sandbox account is only for a Verified Integrator. You apply on the [API enquiry form](https://www.rexsoftware.com/contact/crm-api-enquiry). After the connection is in use, you can apply to be a Verified Integrator on [Rex’s form](https://forms.gle/2kxF6Codazdvsq2a7). For a live agency, Rex’s own steps are: Settings, then Users & Security, then the plus button, then the Privileges tab.

Connect the workspace

  1. 1

  2. 2

Open Integrations. The section is hidden until FreeAML turns it on.

  3. 3

Under Rex, enter the Rex user email and password. If that user can open more than one Rex account, enter the account id as well.

  4. 4

Choose Note or Custom field. A custom field must already exist in Rex. The default name is FreeAML status.

  5. 5

    Select Connect Rex.

Send a check

  1. 1

Search a contact by the start of their name, or by email. Search a listing by suburb, or enter the listing id.

  2. 2

Enter your client’s email and a reference. You do not enter their identity details.

  3. 3

Choose a service charge of $0, $25, $50, or $100. That amount is for this verification only. It is not a saved default.

  4. 4

Select Create verification. Your client pays. An individual check is $20. A company, trust, or SMSF check is $40. Your client chooses which one on the link and enters their own details.

  5. 5

The service charge, when you add one, is paid to this workspace.

When the check is complete, rejected, expired, or declined, FreeAML writes that status. A contact gets a note, unless you chose a custom field. A listing note is written on the listing’s property, which is how Rex attaches notes. The note is one line with the reference and the status. It does not include identity documents.

Can one connection see every workspace I belong to?

No. Connect Rex while that workspace is open.

Where does the report go?

To the email of the person who created the verification.
