Connect Cursor
Point Cursor at the FreeAML MCP server, then sign in with your email code. Nothing is emailed until you confirm.
Updated 12 October 2026
Cursor connects to FreeAML over Streamable HTTP at https://mcp.freeaml.com.au. The connection belongs to one workspace. Sign-in is the same email code as sign-in. FreeAML emails that code.
Cursor’s own steps are in Model Context Protocol (MCP). You do not paste a client id. FreeAML lets Cursor register itself.
Add the server
Put this in the project file .cursor/mcp.json, or in ~/.cursor/mcp.json if you want it in every project. Those are the two locations Cursor documents.
- 1
Create
.cursor/mcp.jsonin the project, or~/.cursor/mcp.jsonin your home directory. - 2
Paste the configuration above. The
urlis the whole address. Do not add a client id, a client secret, or an API key. - 3
Save the file. Cursor uses that URL as a remote Streamable HTTP server and signs you in with OAuth.
- 4
When the browser opens, enter your FreeAML email and the code we email you. Choose one workspace.
- 5
Open Customize in the sidebar and confirm FreeAML is listed. Use the toggle there to turn the server off without deleting the file.
Cursor asks before it runs a tool. You can also open the Output panel, choose MCP Logs, and read the connection log if the server does not answer.
What you can ask
- Which workspace is connected, and what its credit balance is. Credits belong to the workspace. To buy credits, open Credits.
- The status of a verification, including recent ones. You see whether it is paid, a masked client label, and a report link when the report is ready.
- To prepare a verification. Your client’s email is required. A reference and a role are optional. Nothing is emailed until you confirm.
- To resend an invite that already has an email. That does not start a new paid check.
Who pays, and the service charge
When your client pays, they choose a person ($20) or an entity ($40) on the FreeAML link. The service charge starts at $0. You can choose $25, $50, or $100 for that verification only. There is no saved default.
When your workspace pays, you choose person ($20) or entity ($40) before you confirm. There is no service charge on that check. Payment stays on the workspace.
Do I install FreeAML from the Cursor Marketplace?
No. Add the mcp.json entry above. There is no separate Cursor listing to approve.
Which workspace can Cursor see?
Only the one you chose when you connected.
Where does my client finish the check?
On FreeAML. Payment and identity capture stay on our pages.
