Verify a trust

A trust uses the same $40 KYB check as a company. There is no separate Trust button on New Verification. Your client chooses Company / Trust (KYB) on the link and enters the trust name plus an ABN or ACN.

The check stays incomplete until the trust deed is received, at least one party is identified, and every one of them is verified.

Complete the trust check

   Send a verification link. On FreeAML, your client selects Company / Trust (KYB), pays on Stripe's secure checkout, confirms consent, and enters the trust on Entity Details. On Personr's pages, they move to our identity verification partner, Personr, to finish the business check. The web address changes. The page shows "Powered by Personr".

   Open the verification and go to the Owners tab.

   Select Upload trust deed. The file must be a PDF, JPEG, or PNG under 4 MB. If it is larger, you see Trust deed must be under 4 MB.

   After the upload you see the file name and Received with the date. Select Check for parties to ask our verification partner for the names on the deed. The button reads Checking… while it runs. Names are not always found. If none appear, add each person yourself in the next step.

   Under Beneficial owner, type the Name on the trust deed. Role defaults to Beneficial owner. Change that text if you need another role, such as trustee. There is no separate settlor or trustee field.

   Select Add owner.

   Enter an email for each person and send their verification. Use Upload again if you need to replace the deed.

If the deed is still missing, the verification shows an action Upload the trust deed. If people are not listed yet, it shows Identify beneficial owners from the trust deed and Open Owners tab.

You also get notifications titled Trust deed received and Trust parties identified when those steps finish.
