This add-on is for conveyancers. Here's how AML/CTF applies to your work. Helping a client plan or carry out a transfer of real estate is a designated service. So is receiving or holding client money as part of that work. Watch for red flags: funds from unexpected third parties, last-minute changes to who's buying or where money goes, unusual urgency, and transactions that don't make commercial sense. Focus on lessons 2.3, 2.4 and 3.4: due diligence, reporting, and verifying companies and trusts that buy property. Quick recap. Planning or carrying out a property transfer is a designated service. Holding client money for it is too. Watch for unexpected payers, late changes, urgency and unclear purpose. That's your industry add-on. Revisit any core lesson anytime.
