What to do if you missed the 29 July 2026 AUSTRAC enrolment date
If the 29 July 2026 enrolment date has passed and the firm is not enrolled, the next step is to enrol through AUSTRAC Online and keep the receipt. This page does not state a penalty and does not say you may keep providing a designated service in the meantime.
Quick answer
Enrol now. Record the date you were late and tell the compliance officer. Read AUSTRAC’s current enrol page before you assume a designated service can continue. Do not backdate a program approval so the file looks as if the date was met; a March date on another page is a different marker; the firm suite being A$0 does not enrol you.
People search “missed AUSTRAC enrolment deadline” when a suburban firm notices in August that AUSTRAC Online still shows no enrolment and the 29 July 2026 date has passed. Checked against AUSTRAC’s enrol with us page on 4 October 2026. This is general information, not legal advice. This page does not reproduce that guidance. The March registration marker is a different page, registration and 31 March 2026. The enrolment walk-through is the AUSTRAC enrolment guide. The sector map is /tranche-2.
Late is a date, not a strategy
A missed enrolment date is fixed by enrolling, not by a memo that explains the silence. Use AUSTRAC Online, submit what the form asks, and save the receipt with the program. The compliance officer should know the date the firm was late and the date the enrolment was lodged.
Whether a designated service may be provided before enrolment is accepted is a question for AUSTRAC’s current page, not for a vendor. This page does not give that permission and does not invent a fine.
- Enrol now. Waiting for a quieter month does not move the date you already missed.
- Keep the receipt. The lodgement record is what you will be asked for, not a recollection.
- Do not backdate. A program approval dated last month, written today, is a false record.
- Separate the March page. A 31 March 2026 marker on another article is not this July date. Read both against AUSTRAC, not against each other.
What to do this week
A late-enrolment sort for a small firm. This table does not reproduce AUSTRAC’s enrol guidance.
| Step | What good looks like | What to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Confirm you provide a designated service | A yes or no from the program, in writing | Enrolling because a competitor did |
| Lodge on AUSTRAC Online | A receipt saved to the program file | A screenshot with no date |
| Tell the compliance officer | The missed date and the lodgement date | A quiet fix with no note |
| Designated services from here | Whatever the current AUSTRAC page requires | A blog’s permission to continue |
Where the late-date page stops
This page is what to do after 29 July 2026 if enrolment was missed. It is not the March marker and it is not the click-by-click enrolment guide. Those are registration and 31 March 2026 and the AUSTRAC enrolment guide.
What the client pays
On FreeAML the firm suite is A$0. The firm emails the client a link. Verification is client-pays. On the public list a personal KYC check is A$20 and a company or trust KYB check is A$40. Use KYB when the customer is a company or a trust. Late enrolment is not a check, and the firm suite does not include lodging it. Confirm the live amounts on FreeAML pricing. FreeAML does not enrol your firm, waive a missed date, or state a penalty.
