LEAP and AML: practice management is not CDD

LEAP stores the matter. InfoTrack can sit beside it as a search or compliance add-on; neither product is your AML/CTF program, and neither one is customer due diligence.

Quick answer

A practice-management record is where the file lives. Customer due diligence is the check your program requires before a designated service. InfoTrack’s centre is a separate product with its own pages on this site. Do not treat a matter number as a completed KYC; the firm emails a link; the client pays.

People search “LEAP AML InfoTrack” when a law firm keeps matters in LEAP and assumes the practice system has already done customer due diligence. Checked against AUSTRAC’s overview of initial customer due diligence on 4 October 2026. This is general information, not legal advice. This page does not reproduce that guidance. What InfoTrack’s centre includes is the InfoTrack AML centre. A different practice system’s limit is Smokeball and AML. The sector map is /tranche-2.

The matter record is not the check

LEAP AML InfoTrack is a search from firms that already live in a practice system and want the AML job to be a tab. The tab can store a result. It is not the result. Customer due diligence is the work your program describes: who the customer is, what you collect, and whether a designated service can proceed; A precedent, a cost agreement, and a trust balance do not do that work.

InfoTrack is often the name beside LEAP because firms order searches there. Ordering a search is not the same as adopting a program, and it is not the same as a client-pays KYC or KYB check. This site already has pages on what that centre includes and on pricing comparisons. This page does not quote anyone’s subscription and does not reproduce AUSTRAC’s due diligence overview; Smokeball users have the same category error on a different logo.

  • Keep practice management for the matter. Parties, dates, and documents belong there. A matter number is not a customer risk rating.
  • Keep the program in the program. LEAP does not appoint your compliance officer or approve your risks.
  • Treat InfoTrack as its own product. Read the centre page before you assume a search bundle is customer due diligence.
  • Email the check separately. The firm sends the client a link. The practice system does not silently complete KYC.

Where this page stops

This page is the practice-management boundary. It is not a price comparison. That comparison is InfoTrack pricing alternative.

What the client pays

On FreeAML the firm suite is A$0. The firm emails the client a link. Verification is client-pays. On the public list a personal KYC check is A$20 and a company or trust KYB check is A$40. Use KYB when the customer is a company or a trust. A practice-management subscription is not included, and it is not a substitute for a client-pays check. Confirm the live amounts on FreeAML pricing. FreeAML does not turn a practice-management record into customer due diligence.
