How long enrolment takes once your details are ready

Once your details are ready, how long enrolment takes is AUSTRAC Online’s processing, which this page does not quote. The delay a firm controls is the week spent finding those details.

Quick answer

Do not plan the calendar from a number you found on a blog. Have the business details, the services, and the compliance officer’s name ready before you open the form. AUSTRAC may publish its own guide time. This page does not copy it; FreeAML does not lodge the enrolment.

People search “how to enrol AUSTRAC” when the firm’s details are finally in one place and someone asks how many days AUSTRAC will take. Checked against AUSTRAC’s enrolment reform page on 4 October 2026. This is general information, not legal advice. This page does not reproduce that guidance. The walk-through of what to gather is the AUSTRAC enrolment guide. The date people mix up with processing is registration by 31 March 2026. The sector map is /tranche-2.

Ready is the part you can time

People searching how to enrol with AUSTRAC often want a number of days. The useful split is different. One interval is gathering a consistent legal name, the ABN, the designated services, and the person who will be the compliance officer. The other interval starts when that pack is ready and you submit it; this page will not invent the second number.

A two-person firm loses time on the first interval. The trading name on the door does not match the entity on the registration. The services list is a guess. The officer has not been told they hold the role; fix that before you watch a queue; AUSTRAC’s enrolment page is the official description; this article does not reproduce it.

  • Match the entity. Use the legal name you will enrol, not the sign on the window. A mismatch is a slow file.
  • List real services. Write the designated services you provide. An empty guess comes back as rework.
  • Name the officer first. The form asks for a person. Decide that person before you start, and record the date.
  • Ignore blog clocks. If AUSTRAC states a guide time, read it there. Do not manage the firm from a figure this page refused to print.

What ready looks like

A readiness sort before you enrol. This table does not reproduce AUSTRAC Online’s form or any processing time.

Where this page stops

This page is the ready-versus-processing split. It is not the form guide. Field-by-field notes are on the enrolment checklist and the enrolment form guide.

What the client pays

On FreeAML the firm suite is A$0. The firm emails the client a link. Verification is client-pays. On the public list a personal KYC check is A$20 and a company or trust KYB check is A$40. Use KYB when the customer is a company or a trust. Enrolment is not a check, and the firm suite does not lodge it. Confirm the live amounts on FreeAML pricing. FreeAML does not lodge your enrolment or promise how long AUSTRAC will take.
