29 July 2026 enrolment date: what late firms do now
If you missed 29 July 2026, you enrol with AUSTRAC now. The date passing does not switch off the duty to enrol before you provide a designated service.
Quick answer
29 July 2026 is the enrolment date on the Tranche 2 factsheet that firms planned around. A firm that provides a designated service and did not enrol still enrols. Do not wait for a replacement date this page does not have. FreeAML does not enrol you, and any later check stays client-pays.
People search β29 July 2026 AUSTRACβ when a firm that meant to enrol by 29 July 2026 is still unenrolled in October and is hoping the date was the end of the duty. Checked against the Tranche 2 obligations factsheet on 4 October 2026. This is general information, not legal advice. This page does not reproduce that guidance. What changes once the regime has started is Tranche 2 after it started. The March registration date is a different page, AUSTRAC registration by 31 March 2026. The sector map is /tranche-2.
Late means enrol now
29 July 2026 AUSTRAC is the date firms put in the diary for enrolment. That day has passed. A practice that still provides a designated service and still has no enrolment does not get a second commencement. It enrols now, on the current AUSTRAC process, and it stops treating the old diary date as a closed project.
This page does not state a fine, a daily amount, or a grace period. Those figures are not something a blog should invent. The factsheet and the enrol pages govern. Read them, and then enrol.
- Enrol the business. A note in the compliance folder is not an enrolment record.
- Do not backdate the story. Write the real date you enrol. Do not recreate a July login you did not have.
- Look at the services you are still providing. If they are designated, the program has to cover them now, not at the next quiet week.
- Separate March from July. A March registration step and the July enrolment date are different diaries. Do not tick one and skip the other.
What you can do this week
The useful list is short because the legal consequences are not this page's job. Confirm whether you provide a designated service. Enrol if you do and you have not. Approve a program that describes those services, and then do customer due diligence on the services you are still providing, in the order the program sets.
A late firm's week, without a penalty table. This table does not reproduce the Tranche 2 factsheet.
| Job | Done when | Not the same as |
|---|---|---|
| Confirm the service is designated | You can name the service in a sentence | A feeling that AML now applies to everyone |
| Enrol | AUSTRAC has the business on its system | A calendar reminder from June |
| Program | A senior manager has approved your version | The starter kit saved and unopened |
| Customer work | Due diligence runs on services you still provide | A promise to catch up at EOFY |
Where the late-enrolment page stops
This page is what to do after 29 July 2026 if you did not enrol. It is not the enrolment manual. That manual is the AUSTRAC enrolment guide.
Life after commencement, including work that is already underway, is Tranche 2 after it started. That page is the operating picture, not another enrolment clock.
What the client pays
On FreeAML the firm suite is A$0. The firm emails the client a link. Verification is client-pays. On the public list a personal KYC check is A$20 and a company or trust KYB check is A$40. Use KYB when the customer is a company or a trust. Catching up on enrolment is not a check, so it is not billed as KYC or KYB. Confirm the live amounts on FreeAML pricing. FreeAML does not enrol you late, backdate an enrolment, or tell you the consequences of missing the date.
